Daewoo Dual Fuel Forklifts

Daewoo Dual Fuel Forklifts

Basic Fuel Types of Forklifts
Forklifts are powered lift trucks which are utilized in a wide variety of industries to move heavy materials and products. Forklifts are durable and reliable machines which are necessary tools in construction and warehouse environments. Forklift models vary depending on the type of work environment and the type of fuel that is used to power the lift truck.

Electricity
Electric powered lift trucks are great for indoor environments, or in locations with limited ventilation because they make no exhaust fumes. They are designed with industrial strength batteries. As the electric lift truck batteries require charging, the worksite must have a charging station. The batteries are tough and could be re-charged up to 1,500 times before they need to be replaced. The charging station should be situated in a ventilated area and include an emergency eyewash station and an acid spill kit.

Propane
Forklifts powered by liquid propane have some advantages over electric and diesel powered machinery making them quite common in warehouse and industrial environments. Propane engines are much cleaner compared to diesel-powered units. There is no down time needed to recharge an industrial battery, and the cost for propane is less compared to the cost of electricity. A forklift propane tank could be quickly and easily refueled by changing out the empty tank with a full tank. Typically an off-site supplier refills the empty tank, making refueling really safe and efficient.

Gasoline and Gas
Gasoline and Diesel forklifts are the machine of choice for rough terrain and outdoor applications. They are usually found on lumber yards and construction sites. Their disadvantages comprise fairly high maintenance requirements, odorous exhaust and relatively high fuel costs. Their advantages comprise a longer lifespan compared to other units and reliability in tough conditions. Diesel and gasoline units must be refueled at a supply station on site which meets safety and health regulations.
