Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

How to Charge a Scissor Lift
Lots of individuals appreciate the convenience of utilizing a scissor lift. The convenience of working and the safety offered from the lift's basket provide a lot more piece of mind than attempting to perform a similar task using the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this particular machine make it the best option for performing tasks from heights.

Most scissor lifts are powered electrically by batteries which have been mounted directly onto the machine. These batteries will have to be charged after a long shift or after sitting for extended periods without use. It is an easy job to charge the batteries. This can be done without any specialized tools or equipment and requires no heavy labor.

In order to prepare the scissor lift for charging, park the machine near an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated area. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button located near the control box or the charger, inside the basket of the lift. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Usually, models which are older would have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.

Then, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in an area which is well ventilated and then plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. In order to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area when in use, extreme danger could likely take place.
