Clark Counterbalance Forklifts
The forklift is a material handling device used to raise and transport loads from one place to another. Each part of a forklift has a particular function. Various parts can be used to move the load horizontally or vertically.
The forklift mast refers to all the parts that lift and lower the load. There are different types of masts utilized for lifting loads to various heights: duplex, triplex, quad and simplex.
There are four various ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is located within the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Located in the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all located within the cab.
The frame of the truck carries all the largest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are situated at the back to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
