Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is made for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage areas. This kind is suitable for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, like warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has solid rubber, small tires that make maneuvering very easy.
The operator of this particular type of forklift generally stands up within a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: two in the front, and one in the back. This design allows for fast and easy maneuvering. There are some versions of these forklifts which come with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire equipment. The sit-down version generally has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered by an electric engine. Machines which are electrically powered are not noisy and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the preferred alternative for closed places such as retail spaces. Some lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Nonetheless, the diesel version is not recommended for indoor application because it can produce exhaust and be quite noisy.
