Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machinery while they pick up and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best option.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece equipment designed specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are really useful pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
