JLG Telehandlers Massachusetts

After spending many years working along with his brother to build their crane manufacturing corporation into a leader of the business, John L. Grove decided to retire. John as well as his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by setting out on a cross-country trip in their R.V. After that journey, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the global leading maker of mobile aerial work platforms and specialized material handling equipment.

During the R.V. journey, John spent a lot of the time talking to prior business associates that the Groves stopped to visit along their trip. Sadly, while they were visiting the Hoover Dam, 2 employees were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. During subsequent conversations, John saw a huge untapped market for a product which can safely and quickly hoist people into the air to be able to perform maintenance and construction work.

After John and his wife returned from the journey, John decided to take action. He and two dear friends started a partnership and after that bought a small metal manufacturing company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. During the year 1970, with an initial group of 20 employees, the trio built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. Many parts of the basic design elements of that first equipment are still being integrated into the current machines

The company has come a really long way ever since John L. Grove drove back into town from his cross-country journey and have grown dramatically since they debuted their first aerial work platform. Even nowadays, JLG continues to expand into additional worldwide markets. A lot of innovative machines are made to help clients work safer and be more productive.
